WingMakers took on TNS

Airbus U9s – TNS (A)
Our Airbus u9s Wingmakers made a trip to TNS on Saturday morning.
After struggling to gain possession in the first 15 minutes, Airbus gained there composure playing football at pace and stated to control the games.

All goalkeepers were on top but Airbus eventually took there chances to take the wins of which were well deserved.

Players of the week - Roman (GK) – unbeatable performance with gained confidence with all aspects of his distributional play.
Harry Jarvis – exceptional positional play throughout and always involved in our success going forward. Recovery runs without instruction saved us many times.

Airbus U10s – TNS (A)
Some really tough games today against a great TNS side.
In the first game the Wingmakers made a great start by scoring goals and playing really well in the process.

The Airbus team were creating some really good 3v2 situations in the final third but just couldn’t find the final finish.

TNS came out in the second half a lot more physical than us and took control of the game, pressing us high and making it hard for us to build out from the back.

With a lack of substitutes we struggled physically the deeper into the games we went.

There were periods in the second game where we created chances but again, struggled to find the finish to go with it.

Off the ball we lacked awareness and aggression which TNS took advantage of. A tough day, but one which will make us better in the long run no doubt!
Players of the week - Airbus – Henry, superb in goal and some unbelievable saves!
Wingmakers – Bobby Dean, creating chances all game ??

Airbus U11s – TNS (A)
We travelled to TNS, we knew this would be a physical and technical battle and we needed to stick to our principles to find positive moments in the game.

From the start we were a little slow and struggled to get close enough to TNS to disrupt their rhythm, as the game went on we grew into it and started to create chances with some good passing and movement off the ball.

The players matched the physical side of the game and we were able to keep the ball a bit better resulting in chances and some great goals.

Player of the match - Mason Davey
Mason was asked to play in numerous positions today and stood up to the challenge, Masons high energy and determination helped his team regain possession of the ball, Mason also linked up well with the forward players and created his own space which resulted in a fine goal

Airbus U12s - TNS (A)
Tough trip away to TNS usually a very tough close quality game. The first half the game was very equal. TNS and Airbus having equal share of possession and territory. TNS scoring some very good goals which took our lads in surprise.

The 2nd half the lads didn’t give the reaction I was hoping for. Conceded only 1 in the second half but we were penned in and couldn’t find an outlet to get out.

The lads work effort isn’t in question. But finding away to adapt to situation and solving problems is something we can work on

Airbus U14s - TNS (A)
Under 14s travelled to Park Hall to face TNS - as the game started it was TNS who found a foothold in the game, with Airbus struggling to establish any sustained possession.

TNS taking advantage of their momentum driving through the middle of the pitch with Airbus unable to prevent the attack and TNS taking a 1-0 lead on the 15 minute mark.

Airbus continued to try and assert some dominance on the game but TNS did a good job of breaking play up, that being said Airbus showed the dangers they present when a well worked free kick on the half way line was eventually fed into Noah Al-Dulayymi on the right side who got beyond the full back forcing a centre back out of position leaving Junior Kelly 1v1 in the box and he shrugged off his man to finish well into the top corner.

Into the second half and with Airbus defending a corner, they were adjudged to have used a hand in blocking a shot with the resulting penalty being scored to make the game 2-1 to TNS.

Moments later our backline was broken and the on rushing Charlie Tonge seemingly brought down the TNS player with the referee awarding a second penalty and Airbus backs were up against the wall. That was until super-stopper Charlie Tonge lunged to his left hand side to keep the ball out and Airbus cleared their lines to keep the game at 2-1.

The penalty save sparked some life into Airbus and they began to probe TNS looking for the equaliser, that all important goal eventually coming when Joe Farrell found a superb switch that Noah Al-Dulayymi was able to get on the end of and poke home the equaliser past the on rushing goalkeeper.

Momentum seemed to be in Airbus' favour heading towards the end of the game but a slight lapse in concentration allowed TNS into our box and the forward slotted home for 3-2.

A disappointing end to a game we feel we didn't reach the levels we had been so consistent with in previous weeks, but are aware that this is part of the learning for the players and have identified scenarios we can adjust going into next weekends fixture against Flint where we will be looking for a big reaction following a successful week on the training pitch.

Player of the week - Lucas Braisdell

Lucas has been exceptional in training, he shows the work ethic of someone continuously wanting to improve, and despite a tough game against TNS who presented some big physical players, Lucas did extremely well in his 1v1 duels when defending to make it hard for his opponent to find any success with their attacks.

Airbus U15s – TNS (A)
An entertaining game for our U15s at home v TNS.

The lads were exciting going forward in the first half and went in 2-0 up at the break. The first goal was an excellent team goal with a great passing combination in the box as Jake Pendlebury slipped in Harri Edwards for his first of 4 goals.

The 2nd saw Harri press high and score a tap in after great individual work.

Second half saw TNS get one back early on only for Harri Edwards to score 2 further goals with excellent finishes that should have seen the young Wingmakers home.

However the game became a physical & scrappy affair as we struggled to deal with the TNS long ball.

Thus, we got caught not picking up our men from set pieces and we didn’t get out quick enough from the back when needed in the final minute – but this will provide plenty of learning opportunities in defensive areas going forward as the game ended 4-4.

Players of the week were Harri Edwards for his excellent performance with 4 goals in addition to his outstanding work rate & Caiden Baker-Williams for a superb performance in both primary and secondary defensive positions.

Airbus U16s – TNS (H)
Airbus hosted TNS in their first meeting of the season.
Airbus started this game well creating a very early chance after winning the ball on the front foot and combining well to get Kacper Bury in behind.

A game of to-and-fro for both teams giving both tough challenges to deal with. TNS took the lead after they broke down the left hand side to cut in a take a shot from outside the box to follow in and take the chance.

Airbus reacted well to this after having to pick themselves back up, Airbus equalised through Charlie Jones who headed the ball in really well from a corner kick.

Airbus continued to push and won themselves a penalty but were not able to capitalise.
The second half continued in the same manner with both teams disrupting the others and causing problems. Although Airbus created two really good chances where they went one on one with the TNS goalkeeper.

Ultimately Airbus were punished for not taking chances when TNS took the lead through a well worked goal. Disappointingly for Airbus we conceded again shortly after to make it
3-1.

Airbus had to really gather themselves together to push TNS to get back into the game.
A goal came back once Frankie crossed the ball which fell for Kacper Bury to bring Airbus back into the game. Airbus pushed and pushed but credit to TNS they held out for the remaining 12 minutes to take the win.

Player of the match – Harrison Mills-Morgan. Harrison did not stop influencing the match by running and running from central areas to cause TNS problems with forward runs but also breaking their attacking plays up where needed .
