Gaffer's thoughts on extending our unbeaten start to the season

Always a tough game coming to Buckley, but we keep our unbeaten start to the season going?

M.A. "Yes it was a game that went the way that we expected. I did think we were good for the win, but on another day it may have been different.

We didn’t really get going and they work hard and are set up do things well and cause teams problems which is credit to their manager and staff.

However I was really pleased and proud of our lads who dug in and were clinical when it mattered"

George Peers was a menace today with his closing down and he took both his goals well, his performances over the last few weeks have been brilliant for the team?

M.A. "George brings that all important energy to us on and off the pitch. His first goal was an excellent finish and his second comes from just his work ethic.
More important yesterday was that he headed one off the line when we were one nil up so again a really important contribution.

A well deserved man of the match.

We seemed to lose control in a 15 minute spell where Buckley put a lot of pressure on us and scored two goals?

M.A. "Yes they had an impact off the bench and I made a change that in hindsight maybe shouldn’t have but we weathered it and got the points"

Tuesday we head into our second game of the week with another local tie against Hawarden Rangers in the NEWFA Senior Challenge Cup, is that a chance for you to rotate your squad and give players minutes?

M.A. "I tell the players weekly that that all contribute whether they start, finish the game or not play, but Yes it will be a mix of the as players as we play Friday too but a few need minutes under their belts and it will be a chance for academy players to step up"
