Airbus U8s – FAW Festival (N) & Caernarfon Town (A)
The u8’s travelled to Bangor for the FAW futsal festival, the boys were excellent throughout the day putting into practice the things we’d worked on that week to prepare for the festival.
5 wins out of six saw the young Wingmakers finish second in the table with some excellent results and performances.
The boys voted Ethan Molyneux player of the day, defending well, stepped forward out of defence well and scored a few goals too.
Well done boys
Airbus U9s – FAW Festival (N) & Caernarfon Town (A)
U9’s had a busy weekend with trips to Caernarfon and Bangor across the weekend.
Saturday saw us make the Journey for an early KO at Caernarfon. Caernarfon started brightly while the Airbus players were a little slow off the mark in the 1st ¼.
However, as the game went on Airbus improved and played some outstanding football. Airbus scored plenty of goals and finished a great performance with some solid defending to keep Caernarfon at bay.
Sunday saw us have another early start at Bangor for the FAW futsal festival. With the 9’s low on numbers it gave the chance for U8’s to gain experience playing a year up.
The festival proved to be an enjoyable experience for all with some good results, plenty of goals and a lot of laughs throughout the day.
Airbus played some great football with some exceptional goals. Shout out for a fantastic goal line clearance from Oliver vs Connah’s Quay who’s diving header in the last minute stopped a certain goal.
POTW- Ronnie Cieslewicz
Ronnie had an outstanding day at the futsal tournament where he scored plenty of goals across the day including 2 great finishes vs TNS. Ronnie has been fantastic over the last few weeks and keeps standards high in training as well as matches. Keep up the good work.
Airbus U10s – FAW Festival (N) & Caernarfon Town (A)
Saturday was a busy day for the squad with a game away to Caernarfon and then onto the FAW Futsal festival in Bangor.
First up was the game at Caernarfon and after a slow start, the lads grew into the game, looking to keep hold of the ball well and control possession. Both teams were producing some lovely football with chances being created at both ends. The final period, Airbus really started to show their quality with some fantastic phases of play which resulted in a number of goals .
MOTM Caernarfon: Romeo who was quality out of possession winning his 1v1 duels.
Coach MOTM: Iestyn who shown great quality on the ball.
It was then a drive back down to Bangor to compete in the FAW Futsal Festival. With all the North Wales academies in attendance, it was a busy fixture programme throughout the afternoon. Most of the games were very tight and results could have gone either way, but the standout performance was against Flint where Airbus got the deserved win.
Player of the day:- Bobby Dean. Showed great skills and attitude in each game.
Airbus U11s – FAW Festival (N) & Caernarfon Town (A)
Under 11’s travelled to Caernarfon on Saturday which always promises to be a close fixture.
The lads started very well and matched Caernarfon physically and played some very good football throughout.
The lads did brilliantly considering we had no goalkeeper and they had to take it in turn.
An all round positive morning for the 11’s with lots of things to work on and also lots of things to be proud of.
MOM Bobby Potter, solid in defence and drove forward with the ball really well. Excellent display Bobby.
Airbus U12s – Caernarfon Town (A)
Long trip to Caernarfon. The lads played Caernarfon just before Christmas with a good 1-0 win with a great defensive display
As the game went on the lads defended really well keeping the score 0-0 against one of the highest scoring teams in the league.
We did take the league with a goal from Mynor from a brilliant corner from Harri Morris! We then continued to defend brilliantly, keeping Caernarfon away from our goal.
Early second half Sam managed to score from an error from their GK. Making it 2-0! We then managed to see the game out. Another clean sheet making it 3 months without conceding a goal!
MOTM- Harry Jefferies. Great defending and great decisions playing the ball forward
Airbus U13s – Caernarfon Town (A)
The boys took the trip along the coast to Caernarfon for a bitterly cold noon kick-off.
The boys looked a little rusty after the Xmas break but still created a few good chances, half time 0-0.
Second half and the game continued to be well contested by both sides until what looked like a foul on the Airbus right back, the Airbus players delayed as the ref allowed play to continue and the Caernarfon player went and finished well, smashing the ball into the top left of the goal .
This spurred the home side on and they soon got a second goal from a quick counter attack and another fine looping shot into the far corner
However, Airbus did not let their heads drop and showed great character as they looked to get themselves back into the game. The boys rallied and were putting a lot of pressure onto the Caernarfon’s defence. This pressure resulted in a goal when Harry Williams delivered a great cross in from the right and Jacob Mountain was there to finish coolly. This gave Airbus some hope but the unfortunately the equaliser never came, as the game finished 2-1.
Man of the match Will Rishworth, excellent saves and good distribution.
Airbus U14s – Caernarfon Town (A)
Airbus travelled to Caernarfon for the first game of 2025 following recent weather disruptions.
The game started very evenly but it was Airbus creating the better chances doing really well to overload the Caernarfon right back and create chances through the left hand side, Harry Williams with the first effort safely saved by the Coffi’s keeper.
A few moments later and he had advanced beyond his man again, this time catching the ball clean with only the crossbar keeping him out and Airbus could consider themselves unlucky not to of taken the lead.
It was Caernarfon who took the first chance though, a two-handed push in the penatly area not seen and they tucked home for 1-0.
As the second half started Caernarfon grabbed another to go 2-0 to the good, coming through their main threat that we just didn’t deal with efficiently.
A positive reaction ensued and Junior Kelly cleverly volleyed beyond the goalkeeper to get us back in the game at 2-1. Frustratingly the game was very stop start so both sides struggled to find any rhythm, despite this heading towards the end of the game we were still getting beyond their back line and Noah Al-Dulayymi’s strike come crashing back off the bar to keep the score at 2-1, unfortunately for us, having committed players forward Caernarfon went straight up the other end and scored to make it 3-1, then grabbed another towards the final whistle, final score 4-1 but this wasn’t a true reflection of the game and it was a case of fine margins on the day.
Player of the week - Piotr Woldarczyk
Piotr commits to training the way he plays his games, his levels don’t change from one contact to the next which sets a really good example for all, his 1v1 defending today was exceptional throughout the game, speed, power, strength and confidence all in abundance for him today.
Airbus U15s – Caernarfon Town (H)
Airbus welcomed Caernarfon this cold Sunday morning to Hollingsworth Group Stadium
First half the young Airbus team started the brighter team scoring the first goal in the first minute, Dylan Cusato winning the ball back in the final third and sliding Harri Edwards in for the first goal.
Caernarfon settled in to the game but Airbus were to much and after 17’ Joseph Pridding set Dylan Cusato for his first of the game. Finishing the half strong on 31’ Jack Davies worked hard in the corner winning the ball back to assist Joseph Pridding for his first goal of the game. Half time 3-0 Airbus
Second half the visitors started a little faster but the young Wingmakers soon got control of the ball and settled back in to their rhythm which was rewarded on 52’ with a goal from Nataniel Rakowiecki assisted by Dylan Cusato
Straight after this on 55’ Dylan Cusato popped up with a bit of good individual work and slotted his second goal of the day.
On 66’ Nataniel Rakowiecki worked hard in the corner winning the ball back to assist Jake Pendlebury and finally on 70’ Harri Edwards working hard running the ball down to assist Joseph Pridding for his second of the game. Final score 7-0 Airbus
Player of the week goes to Dylan Cusato who trains well consistently and played a huge part in today’s game assisting 3 and scoring a brace. Keep it up U15’s
Airbus U16 – Caernarfon Town (H)
We welcomed Caernarfon U16s to the Hollingsworth Group Stadium on a cold day at the Airfield.
We knew that this would be a difficult fixture as the U16 were on the wrong side of a 1-6 score line prior to the Christmas break & Caernarfon have since strengthened – with a couple of lads signing from Wrexham FC.
The game was a frantic affair for 10 minutes, but we just couldn’t get a foothold in the game & struggled to play forward passes into the opposition half. This in turn made it difficult for our defensive unit as we were constantly under pressure.
However there were numerous good examples of defending & delaying the opposition whilst ensuring we were tight as a unit – this meant that Caernarfon couldn’t break us down.
We had a couple of good moments of our own but didn’t have the cutting edge that is required in the final third to make any clear-cut chances, whilst Jacob Clement made a couple of good saves to keep us at 0-0.
The 2nd half was a bit more open as we looked to improve our passes into forward areas and cause the opposition more of a problem.
We struggled to play out quickly which meant that we continually invited pressure on to ourselves.
Our opposition had numerous chances which were foiled by Louis Brimfield, but we had a couple of moments ourselves, whereby our quality and detail needed to be better at key moments.
In the last minute of the game we were unlucky as a Caernarfon long ball was played to a player that was standing in an offside position, fouled our centre half from behind and we unfortunately conceded the only goal of the game from the 2nd phase. Fine margins but it was an incorrect decision & it unfortunately denied us a point on the day.
Player of the week – Jayden Ball
Came on for the second half and played on the right side of the defence. Tough in the tackle, tried to play breaking Iines passes when in possession and looked solid out of possession. Well done.
Airbus U19s – Caernarfon Town (H)
Airbus welcomed Caernarfon on Sunday afternoon Hollingsworth Group Stadium
First half was a scrappy start from Airbus having not played a competitive game in over a month. In the first 20 minutes, we lost one of our young starlets to what looks like a bad knee injury Harry Jones and found ourselves 1-0 to add to the loss. Speedy recovery H.
We did eventually get some control of the game and finished the half the stronger team, however HT 1-0 Caernarfon
Second half started much better and brighter. The young Wingmakers really looking in control and enjoying themselves.
Creating many chances it was only a matter of time until we broke the deadlock on 65’ as were awarded a penalty after Harry Henderson played his way in to the opposition box forcing them to bring him down.
Dan Semple calmly dispatched the pen.
Looking in total control Airbus capitalised on 70’ through Dan Semple again assisted by Hugh Holland.
Not settling Airbus continued to push for more and Robbie Jones found himself taking the ball around the keeper, only to be brought down for another penalty on 86’ which Dan Semple calmly slotted away to complete his hatrick.
Finally through some great individual play James Allen finished the scoring with an fantastic strike on 90+1’ to finish the game 4-1 Airbus
Player of the week goes to James Allen who continues to impress every week. His second half performance was mega, working hard setting good standards and a great goal for his efforts. Well done James
Airbus Reserves – Holywell Town (H)
Airbus Reserves started the game quickly and could and possibly should have been 3-0 up after 10 minutes.
Airbus dominated the half and scored 2-0 through Ieuan Jones-Wellstead and Ben Williams.
The 2nd half followed the same story as the 1st half with plenty of chances created but a combination of poor finishing and good goalkeeping restricted Airbus to only 3 more goals.
Plenty of positives to take from the game with some great football played and some very positive individual performances.
Player of the week: Harvey Greig who has trained well and has been doing extras in his own time
