The young WingMakers were outstanding away at Caernarfon, the passing and moving was of the highest standards, the boys put into practice all the things we’ve been working on in training.

Airbus U9s – Caernarfon Town (A)
After a fantastic start V TNS, Our U9 WingMakers this week travel to Caernarfon for another tough fixture.
In the early stages, Airbus was outstanding in possession, expanding as soon as they won the ball enabling our U9s to play great football going forward.
However, Airbus also found a lot of success in the games die to the speed of transition when losing and regaining possession.
The most outstanding performer today was Oscar Davies, showing great discipline and composure during the games to help Airbus stay in control and be successful once again.
A great start to our Season.
Airbus U10s – Caernarfon Town (A)
Looking to build on their fine performance against TNS from last week, the under 10’s travelled to Caernarfon on a hot day to face the physical and technical Coffi’s who showcased some excellent football across the year last season at this age group.
The young Wingmakers had a fast start and displayed a clear identity to their football with and without the ball.
The build up play was fast and effective from the off, playing through the thirds with some neat passing to consistently break lines and probe the final third of the opposition.
Some individual excellence combined with combinations in key areas of the pitch provided success throughout the first round of games.
The transition to 7 a side football seems to of really suited this group and they are finding lots of success with the extra space that a bigger pitch provides but maintaining really good defensive balance in the process.
The morning was competitive for both academy’s with the pendulum swinging one way to the other frequently and lots of goals being scored along the way.
Players of the match Hudson Reilly – Hudson showed really good 1v1 domination within his games and showed a physical determination to his individual battles.
Albie Dodd – Albie was a technical masterclass today, controlling the middle of the pitch with through balls, minimal touches in tight areas and the ability to pull opposition out of position before exploiting the space that gave us.
Elliot Jones – positive and direct with the ball at his feet, El looked to drive forward into the final third every time he had the ball.
Airbus U11s – Caernarfon Town (A)
U11s took a trip to Caernarfon. The boys held the ball well and looked to play football against a good physical team.
Some great skills and movements of ball provided some great opportunities on goal.
Player of the week – Bobby Potter. Superb performance at the back against a strong physical team. Bobby picked up great defensive positioning and won all his 1v1 battles as he made it difficult for Caernarfon players to get past him. On the ball Bobby always had his head up and made great decisions with ball with all different ranges of passing.
Airbus U13s – Caernarfon Town (A)
The boys took the trip to last season’s champions Caernarfon and performed exceptionally well going into a two nil lead early in the game with goals from Fynley Wardle and Dafydd Edwards both assisted by Harry Williams.
Caernarfon pulled one back through a goalmouth scramble, 2-1 at the break.
Second half the game continued to ebb and flow before a deflected equaliser made it 2-2
An amazing goal from Harry Williams from long distance looked to have sealed all three points but a late free kick for Caernarfon meant the game finished 3-3 , a very entertaining game of football.
Man of the match Harry Williams
Airbus U15s – Caernarfon Town (H)
Airbus U15’s welcomed Caernarfon U15’s to the Hollingsworth Group Stadium for our 1st FAW Academi fixture of the season.
The lads started brightly and put together a couple of good phases of play.
The game went through a period of both teams being careless in possession, but on 18 minutes Max Murray scored the opening goal with a neat first time finish after good work on the right from Fish. This came after 12 passes where the lads played away from pressure and kept the ball alive.
We then enjoyed some good possession before a blip in our defensive area saw Caernarfon equalise through an own goal.
This didn’t deter the young Wingmakers and we went ahead through a fine move where Max Murray got on to the end of a Dylan Cusato ball from the 2nd phase of a corner to head home our second goal.
Dylan Cusato then got his 2nd assist of the game with a nice ball played into the box from a free kick where Fish headed home into the bottom corner.
Caernarfon scored a 2nd from a corner to keep them in the game – and area that we will work on over the season.
A fine move down the right hand side from the lads reaffirmed the 2 goal advantage as Max Murray turned provider to Harri Edwards who slotted the first time ball home at the near post.
4-2 Airbus at the break.
The second half saw the U15’s enjoy good possession and make numerous chances which on another day would result in more success than they achieved today. The play was good, movement was dynamic and we looked dangerous in the opposition half, whilst being secure in defensive areas.
Jake Pendlebury scored our 5th goal from the high press on the opposition last line of defence and then dispatched a penalty to make it 6.
Caernarfon scored a late penalty with the last kick of the game as the game ended 6-3 to Airbus.
A good weekend for the U15s – many lessons learned away v Liverpool FC and a successful first outing in the U15 FAW Academi v Caernarfon Town FC.
Airbus U19s – Caernarfon Town (H)
Sunday saw Airbus host Caernarfon for our first home fixture of the new season
The fixture started a bit scrappy with neither team really settling well. Early on it was a bit like basketball, very end to end. Luck favored the visitors as the capitalised on a switch of play and took the lead on 12’
Airbus reacted very well and got themselves straight back in to the game with a first goal for Franek Sadczuk on the 17’ assisted by Ieuan Jones-Wellstead
This was the catalyst Airbus needed as they went on to dominate possession for the remainder of the half which was rewarded right at the end with a goal from a corner by Tom Dougherty assisted by Louis Bebbington in the 43’. HT 2-1 Airbus
Second half Airbus started the half the better team. They immediately went on the hunt for another goal and got it on 54’ as Dan Semple continued his goal scoring run by slotting in a nice piece of team play assisted by Ieuan Jones-Wellstead
Airbus continued to dominate the game and could have very easily made it several more on another day. The last 10’ of the game were made more interesting by the visitors scoring against the run of play after a mistake by Airbus but we managed to see the game out finishing 3-2 winners
Player of the week goes to Ieuan Jones-Wellstead. Since joining Airbus this season Ieuan has been excellent. His intensity at training and games is always high and he has lots of real quality. Quality which has seen him make the first team bench and made two appearances in recent weeks for the first team. Very exciting player and a great human. Well done Ieuan
