Airbus U8s – Flint Town United FC (H)
U8’s welcomed Flint to the Airfield for some games in the sunshine.
Good performance all round from the young Wingmakers putting into their game the things we’ve worked on in training, occasionally making errors which allowed a few goals against.
Man of the match for team 1 Benji Evans , tirelessly looking to get the team going forward .
Man of the match for team 2 Oliver Loftus, excellent goals and link up play.
Well done boys
Airbus U9s – Flint Town United FC (H)
Our Wingmakers u9s hosted Flint this weekend.
Airbus started at pace from the first minute showing strength and determination against a physical side.
Our movement within the final third was impressive after our weekly training sessions and our chances were taken for a healthy lead. Flint tried their best to get back into the matches but Airbus kept pass and move football to win all 4 matches.
Players of the week
1.Ronnie Cieskewiez- Ran at pace into final third creating and taking his goals with composure.
2. Teddy Hughes – unselfish performance showing grit and determination throughout to gain possession along with taking his goals at crucial moments.

It was an electric start vs Flint this weekend!
Before we started the game one aim we spoke about to get some early shots off to put them under pressure early doors. And that’s exactly what we did with Bobby Dazzlers long range effort which was narrowly tipped over the bar.
As the game progressed the boys didn’t let off, and the goals started to come. GGG with the pick of the bunch with a left foot half volley from a tight angle.
The second game proved to be a more physical game with the opposition putting more pressure on us when in possession.
The boys adapted well and stepped up to the challenge! A great morning of football with lots of goals
Player of the week could have a gone to a number of players I’m sure you’ll all agree! I gave it to Ellis for his 3 goals across the 2 games, some great finishes and really good movement to create the chances.
After two really tough fixtures against Flint I thought the boys played good football during most parts of the games, despite struggling against Flint in the first half Airbus shown their quality and managed to get an early goal during the second half of the 1st game after plenty of opportunities to make the game level the Flint keeper made some great saves to keep Flint in the game.
2nd game Airbus started off slowly and went behind by two goals but was a fast turn around after brilliant goals from Charlie. Airbus started to gain the confidence into the game and we’re playing really attacking football and scored some amazing goals.
Both games were great too watch and a great physical battle.
Airbus U11s – Flint Town United FC (H)
From the first minute the lads were focused and on the front foot.
Our press high up the field caused Flint lots of problems and lead to a number of opportunities in their final third from winning the ball back.
When in possession we moved the ball really quickly, managing to switch the play and get the ball out wide to create goal scoring opportunities.
All 8 players were superb today and we couldn’t have asked anymore from them.
Hard to pick a MOTM but I went with George Coy, superb energy levels up and down the wing, winning his 1v1 battles, George was really confident and looked to play forward as quickly as possible. Also chased back to help defensive players.

Important game for the lads to day. Really big opportunity for them to play some good football and advance up the league.
Flint took advantage of their momentum and went on to score early.
A good reaction for the lads with Will scoring from the corner to make it 1-1.
At half time we talked about playing the ball into space. Shortly after we went on to score from our team talk to make it 2-1.
2nd half the boys contained Flint in their own half for majority of the game. We let them through once which they scored from. But the lads went on to score that final goal and then defended well to keep flint out. 3-2 final score
Player of the week - Leon Neal

The boys started brightly at home to Flint and the better of the first half, a long ball down the Flint right and a cross come shot loops over the keeper 1-0 flint.
Half time we talked about how we were the better side in the first half and to go out and get an early equaliser.
Two minutes into the second half and a second goal for Flint from some sloppy defending on the goal line.
The boys heads dropped after this and individual errors crept in to their game .
A victory for Flint, the boys must take their first half performances into the second half of games and cut out the individual errors
Players of the match Henry Carter ( kept encouraging his team mates) and Will Rishworth ( some excellent saves )
Airbus U14s – Flint Town United FC (H)
The under 14’s welcomed Flint to the Hollingsworth, following the previous weeks defeat to TNS in which we didn’t achieve what we’d set out to, regardless of the score line.
Sunday for us, was about reflecting on that performance and identifying which areas we felt needed more attention in Sunday’s fixture, that was a collective, open and constructive conversation between coaches and players pre-game that proved to be really effective in the direction the game went.
It was a great day all round and we will struggle to identify all goals scored without fear of running out of space here today.
The first goal, Junior Kelly fed Noah Al-Dulayymi on the half way line who showed his strength to come away with the ball and drive at the Flint players and into the box, off the ball Alfie Edwards, Junior Kelly and Harry Williams all put in huge runs to get in the box and attack our golden zones, that’s exactly what the match objectives asked of them and to do it so early on to set the tone for the game, Alfie Edwards being rewarded for that when he calmly controlled the ball and finished back across the goalkeeper.
Defending a free kick in and around our box, we regained the ball, Alfie Edwards played a fantastic forward pass into Noah Al-Dulayymi who had the intelligence to stay on the ball before cutting inside and switching to Lucas Braisdell who, from right back ran onto the pass taking one touch and unleashing possibly the best strike we will see all season from 30/35 yards out crashing into the net off the underside of the crossbar. The strike alone was unbelievable, but it come from us defending our box and within a few passes the ball was in the back of the Flint goal showing just how ruthless we can be on the counter attack with the speed and quality we have in the squad.
Into the second half and Airbus regain the ball in their defensive third through some excellent break-up play from Jack Mitchell, momentarily building up the left hand side before changing the point of attack, Noah Al-Dulayymi linking brilliantly with Alfie Edwards who played a sublimely weighted pass between centre back and full back for Noah to get on the end of an slot home.
Heading towards the end of the game and there was no let-up in our ability to punish our opponents, a 3v2 scenario created on the right hand side with 1 and 2 touch football to escape pressure before Jack Melia curled into the top corner.
Goalscorers: Alfie Edwards, Noah Al-Dulayymi, Lucas Braisdell, Junior Kelly, Jack Meliá, Harry Williams
Our back line and goalkeeper with another clean sheet, their 5th of the season and very much pivotal to our successes on match days.
A perfect reaction from the players where our match objectives were clearly identifiable during the game.
Player of the week: Noah Al-Dulayymi. A hatrick on the day, but combined with character, good body language, tactical awareness and work ethic proved he was just unplayable for anyone. Great work Noah.
Airbus U15s – Flint Town United FC (A)
There was a trip to Flint Town Utd for the U15’s this weekend.
The young Wingmakers started brightly and should have gone 1-0 as Fin Hayes went close.
We conceded 2 scruffy goals in the 1st 25 minutes where we need to be better with our decision making in dealing with the long ball.
However we got back into the game before half time with goals from Harri Edwards (Assisted by Fish) & Max Murray (Assisted by Jake Pendlebury). Both goals showed good quality in the build up and finish.
2-2 @ half time.
We had a number of chances in the 2nd half & scored an excellent team goal as we played out from the back as we have been practicing in training, broke lines in central midfield areas, switched play out to the left, created & exploited an overload out wide & Nataniel Rakowiecki crossed a delightful ball in for Jake Pendlebury to finish at the back post with a superb volley.
Flint then equalised in what was a good finish from the lad – although we were frustrated that we gave the ball away from our throw in.
With 2 minutes to go we had a free kick on the left. Rhys Ineson crossed in a delightful ball for Nataniel Rakowiecki to head home from 8 yards out.
To make the game safe, Harri Edwards was brought down in the box in injury time and Mr Cool Jake Pendlebury dispatched the penalty into the bottom corner.
A game that went one way then the other. We made it difficult for ourselves early on but we kept true to our principles and tried to play our brand of football. We showed good resilience and discipline throughout and finished the game strongly to ensure the 3 points came back to the Airfield.
Player of the week: Joseph Pridding – Started on the left hand side and his 1st half performance was excellent. Dangerous going forward and took the game to the opposition from minute 1. Provided excellent service to others where we should have had more goals and can be very happy with his mornings work.
Airbus U16s – Flint Town United FC (A)
A Sunday afternoon kick off for our 16s at Flint who were seeking revenge from our previous game.
The game started quite evenly with Flint causing Airbus issues from their runs in behind and their high press.
Flint nicked it twice for two good chances in the first half. Flint broke the deadlock after a long throw in was headed away with Flint scoring from the edge of the box.
Airbus got into some good positions first half but lacked that cutting edge.
Airbus started the second half bright. The first big chance of the second half fell to Airbus after some good play fed Harry in on goal but the keeper saved.
Flint broke from this to make it 2-0. Airbus reacted well but unfortunately a mix up lead to flint scoring a third ten minutes later.
Airbus did grab a goal back when Stanley put away his penalty which Angel won.
Player of the match – Evan Roberts. A very mature display from central areas. Very tidy on the ball and kept us ticking but also did the defensive side well.
Airbus U19s – Flint Town United FC (A)
Airbus 19’s travelled up the coast Sunday morning for our first visit to the Essity Stadium this season
Airbus started the brighter of the two teams creating a chance in the opening minute of the game. Keeping the pressure high we were rewarded on the 4’ as Franek Sadczuk assisted Hugh Holland scoring the opening goal of the game.
The hosts came straight back at us and played their way in to the game getting their reward on 12’ 1-1
Neither team really taking full control of the match as it was very direct by both teams however Airbus on 26’ through Dan Semple assisted by Ieuan Jones-Wellstead re-took the lead 2-1
The lack of quality continued and Flint punished us two more times before the end of the half. First half 3-2 Flint
Second half started in the same vein. With little to really hold on to for either side it became a game of percentages as both teams played very direct
Airbus on 68’ through Ieuan Jones-Wellstead drew level through a mistake from the opposition and we managed to punish the error. 3-3
Then through some very pleasing phases Airbus managed to take control for a short time and create few chances which were eventually rewarded as Tom Dougherty headed home on 75’ from a Ieuan Jones-Wellstead assist 4-3 Airbus
Frustratingly the hosts went straight down the other end and equalised on 78’ 4-4 straight after we could of put the game out of reach missing a 1v1 to make it 5-3
Not our favourite game of the season but a draw was probably a fair result
Final score 4-4
Airbus Reserves – Buckley Town (A)
Our reserve team travelled to the Globe to play Buckley Reserves having lost to them in the first game of the season 1-2.
The key messages prior to the game were to show patience in the build up and ruthlessness in front of goal. The hosts defended in numbers and showed great discipline themselves shifting side to side and not allowing any spaces between the lines. Within the first 10 minutes Airbus failed to show ruthlessness in front of goal, spurning several gilt-edged chances to take the lead. We did however show patience when in possession of the football and dominated the 1st half forcing many corners which were not executed correctly.
The second half followed a similar pattern with Airbus now testing Buckley’s defence with runs and passes played in behind. On 66 minutes the hosts were awarded a free kick following there first foray into Airbus’ half. The resulting free kick was dispatched brilliantly into the bottom corner.
Airbus showed they had learnt from the reverse fixture by staying disciplined and sticking to their principles. Attack after attack finally ended in an equaliser by Lloyd Robinson.
Shortly after Hugh Holland expertly dispatched a finish into the bottom corner. Airbus again showed excellent composure and saw out the game comfortably.
An excellent performance and more importantly the group as a whole showed they had learnt lessons from the reverse fixture and were able to apply them to win the 3 points.
