On a lovely sunny Saturday afternoon, Airbus welcomed Guilsfield to The Hollingsworth Group Stadium for Game 23 of the JD Cymru North Campaign.
Airbus made one change to the starting line-up from our victory at Prestatyn Town, with Danny Warren coming in for Oli Lanceley.
Guilsfield got us underway for the afternoon playing in all yellow as they kicked from right to left.
The first five minutes were a very scrappy affair with neither team unable to get the ball down and play.
On 7 minutes Kieran Evans delivered a cross into the box which Danny Warren met with a glancing header, but his effort was wide of the post.
Airbus were beginning to settle and get the ball down and play, and with 17 minutes on the clock Jordan Evans delivered a great ball into the Guilsfield box, which Warren managed to get a flick on to George Peers, but the No.11 failed to connect at the back post.
Kieran Evans delivered another ball into the box on 21 minutes, which was aimed towards the back post and Peers was there once again but his shot was saved by Luke Evans for a corner. From the resulting corner Warren was left unmarked at the back post but his volley was wide of the target.
Airbus were having most of the chances, this time a brilliant ball over the top by Tyler McManus is met by Peers as he brings himself to a 1v1 situation with ‘keeper Evans, which the goalkeepers gets down well to save. The rebound fell back into the path of Peers and Evans was a match for the effort once again as the score remained 0-0
Just after the half hour mark there was some great play down the right from a corner, and a perfectly lofted cross from Jordan Evans was met by McManus but the No.2’s effort was over the bar.
Cooke was beginning to cause problems for the Guilsfield defence, the No.12 collected the ball as he set out on one of his mazy runs and cut inside before curling an effort towards goal from about 20 yards out, which clipped the post and to safety.
Two minutes before half time Warren met a cross into the Guilsfield box on the volley, which was straight at Luke Evans.
Guilsfield had their first chance of the half in the 44th minute when Jake Cook had a headed effort saved by Keighan Jones.

Airbus got us back underway in the second half looking to convert some of the chances they created.
3 minutes into the half, Airbus had another chance after a great ball by Ryan Edwards is played into the path of Cooke, who delivered a ball into the Guilsfield box and Warren connected with a great strike, but Evans was more than a match as he saved with his feet.
The game was becoming a bit more open in the second half and a messy passage of play within the Airbus box led to an important interception by Kieran Evans, which enabled Airbus to clear their lines.
McManus and Cooke linked up once again down the right, as Cooke delivered a pass into McManus’ path and the full back delivered a ball to Peers at the back post, but his effort was wide.
The chances kept coming for the WingMakers and this time it was Jordan Evans that found himself in space and he got his connection all wrong as his shot sailed over the bar.
Jordan Evans was involved once again a minute later and this time it was wide of the post.
On 65 minutes, Cooke took the ball brilliantly to give him a run at James Smallwood which he had beaten but his delivery had too much pace on it and evaded everyone in the Guilsfield box.
Three minutes later, Jordan Evans with some great footwork set himself for a shot and again Luke Evans was there to pull off a fantastic save. The rebound fell to Peers and the ball was just behind him to make a decent connection and guide it goal wards.
Jamie Hyne fancied his chances from 20 yards out and his effort was just over the bar.
With 20 minutes remaining, Airbus made a double substitution with Oli Lanceley and James Davies replacing Danny Warren and George Peers.
Guilsfield drew a save from Keighan Jones which he pushed round for a corner. From the resulting corner Hyne managed to get away from his marker and head the ball past Jones to give the visitors the lead.
Ten minutes later, Airbus levelled the score. The WingMakers were rewarded a free kick which Jordan Evans took charge off and played the ball into Cooke, the vice-captain received the ball back from Cooke and took his chance with a curling effort which settled into the side netting leaving Luke Evans routed to the spot.
There was 6 minutes of injury time added as Airbus went searching for a winner, they had a half chance into the first minute of injury time, but it was brilliantly blocked by the Guilsfield defence.
The final whistle blew on a frustrating afternoon for Airbus and a game of missed chances.
