Fifteen minutes in, Cooke shown his strength and quality when a mazy run allowed him to find a way through the Mold defence, but his shot was easily collected by Mold ‘keeper Smith.

Five minutes after Cooke’s effort, Mold were rewarded a free kick just outside the box. Rodgers stepped up and placed a brilliantly taken free kick into the bottom corner.

Mold’s number 23, Sylla caused the Airbus defence a few problems in the first 30 minutes, this time his shot looked to have beaten Jones, but Sylla’s shot come crashing of the crossbar.

As we entered injury time added on for two stoppages in the first half, Airbus equalised with an amazing finish from Warren.

Williams delivered a great ball into Edwards path, who had found a pocket of space between the Mold defenders, he brought the ball down and with his second touch flicked the ball into Warren and his sweetly struck volley found the top corner of the net.

Half time the scores level, but Mold with a man advantage.

Airbus got us underway in the second half and it was the Wingmakers who had the first chance of the second half, when Davies found Warren, but his shot was blasted over the bar.

Warren had another chance two minutes later looking for his second of the game, when great feet from Evans allowed him to set Warren, but this time his shot was wide.

This was where Warren’s Airbus Cup Debut ended when he was substituted for Lancelely on 50 minutes.

Lanceley had an instant effect as he was involved in Airbus taking the lead. Evans driving at the Mold defence found Lanceley who’s movement allowed him to find space and lay the ball off to Davies. Davies executed a perfectly time pass into Cooke who took a couple of touches and finished with a great shot across ‘keeper Smith and into the bottom corner.

Just after the hour mark, Mold had their first chance of the second half as they were rewarded a free kick.

Rodgers stepped up and this time his effort hit the crossbar; the rebound was eventually headed in after a scramble in the box, but on this occasion was ruled out for offside.

Just over 20 minutes remaining, Peers was introduced to the fold in place of Collins.

Davies found himself in a great position on 71 minutes and a 1v1 with Smith, but Smith stood tall and denied Davies.

With around 15 minutes remaining, Lancely made it three. His shot was too powerful for Smith, as the Mold Keeper was beaten.

As Mold were pushing for a goal, Cooke found himself in space with only the keeper to beat. Cooke’s amazing footwork left the keeper and defender on the floor, but his shot was superbly blocked.

Ten minutes remaining of the 90, Rickett and Baker replaced the brilliant Cooke and youngster Stevenson.

87 minutes, Mold made it a nervy ending to the game. Another scramble within the Airbus box as the Wingmakers failed to clear their lines. The ball eventually fell to Rodgers, and he poked the ball home for his second of the game.
