Three changes were made to the Airbus starting line-up which started against Llandudno last weekend. Joe Palmer, Josh Stevenson and Danny Warren replacing Sam Rickett, Sam Baker and Oli Lanceley.
Buckley got us underway with an earlier kick off that under an overcast sky.
Airbus’ pressure from kick off was too much for Adam Smith, as George Peers dispossessed the Buckley full back and held the ball up well to play into the path of the overlapping Jordan Evans. Evans’ cross into the box was comfortable for James McHarrie to collect.
The game started in a very frantic and chaotic style, with both teams trying to set the tempo in the game.
Buckley had their first shot of the half when a great strike from Holland stung the hands of Keighan Jones.
Airbus took the lead after a quarter of an hour, when some great build up play from the WingMakers released Cooke with the ball, his pace took him past Allen and Cooke pulled a ball back to the edge of the box from the by-line to find Peers in space.
Peers made a great connection with the pass and sent a first time shot into the top corner.
Buckley tried to respond to Airbus taking the lead, and this time ex-Airbus player Brad Knight hit a great shot, but Jones was a match with another great save.
Peers went from goal scorer to defender when a Buckley attack nearly resulted in an equaliser, but a great clearance from Peers on the line denied the home team.
Evans showed great skill on 33 minutes when his run inside towards goal allowed him to get a shot at Buckley’s goal but on this occasion, it was the wrong side of the post.
Buckley’s Smith was allowed to collect the ball and run at the Airbus defence, he decided to take a shot early, and this provided Jones with a comfortable save.
Max Moore had a brilliant chance before half time as he found a pocket of space and his powerful shot was just over the crossbar.
Airbus went into half time with a goal lead.
Airbus got us underway in the second half looking to add to their goal tally for the afternoon.
Evans had a great chance 7 minutes into the second half when his long-range effort was deflected over for a corner.
Peers doubled his tally on 54 minutes when a mistake by McHarrie was pounced upon by Peers and he finished into an empty net to give Airbus a 2-0 lead.
Connor Littler’s introduction by Buckley was causing a few problems for the Airbus defence and on the hour, Littler tried his luck but his shot was collected by Jones.
Airbus had a 3-0 lead with just under half an hour a go when a fantastic direct run down the right by Cooke allowed him to find Warren in space with a pass inside. Warren’s first-time effort was saved by McHarrie, but unfortunately for the Buckley keeper the rebound fell to Warren and this time the Airbus No. 8 made no mistake and gave Warren his 8th League goal of the season.
Mark Allen made two substitutes just after the third goal, with Dan Collins and James Davies replacing Kaiden Cooke and Dan Wood.
After the substitutions, Airbus found themselves under pressure with a chaotic 10 minutes which followed.
A long ball up the pitch by Buckley found Littler in behind and he won his 1v1 battle with Jones as he calmly slotted the ball home to make it 3-1.
3 minutes later, Buckley had a second as James Rutter found himself in acres of space on the edge of the box which gave him time to pick his spot and place a shot into the bottom corner past Jones.
Airbus were riding waves of pressure from Buckley, and the hosts could have had an equaliser but a calm head in Jones didn’t let his concentration drop as he tipped over another shot.
The WingMakers had managed to soak up the pressure and it looked like they were about to finish the game off. A brilliant run by Collins allowed him to get a shot off, but McHarrie made a great save down low to deny the youngster.
Airbus welcomed the final whistle and the three points to keep their unbeaten start to the season extended.
