Tuesday night saw Airbus Reserves travel to Conwy Borough Reserves for a rescheduled cup fixture under the lights.
The first half saw the wingmakers dominate the majority of possession. Airbus were patient and kept the ball well looking to manage the opposition and try to find the forward passes to get in behind the opposition.
Airbus created several chances including Tom Dougherty’s effort off the bar and another one through on goal and both Robbie Jones and Dan Semple’s efforts just off target. First half finished 0-0
Second half started quickly for the young Airbus team. Tom Dougherty hit the post and the opposition keeper made several outstanding stops keeping Conwy in the game.
Eventually the break through came on 65’ as Robbie Jones’s effort nestled in to the top corner assisted by Louis Bebb.
Conwy tried to get back in to the game with a couple of chances in behind but it was well dealt with by the defensive unit
Final score 1-0 Airbus. On to the next round
Player of the week, Tom Dougherty has been training and playing really well. Tom played 65’ in a forward position and proved himself as a good option when needed and finished the game as his normal position in the defensive unit. Great attitude, great lad. Well done Tom
