Airbus manager Steve O’Shaughnessy is looking to see his side return to winning ways when we welcome Llanidloes town later today.
The last time we faced the diffs saw us come out on top with 2-6 victory in mid Wales. A hat-trick from Adam Davies, plus goals from Beau Cornish and George Peers saw the Bus come out on top in September.
The Wingmakers were only able to bring one point back from Penrhyncoch two weeks ago however, and with the title race hotting up, the gaffer knows how important every point will be as we enter the final stages of the season.
So what is the thoughts of O’Shaughnessy ahead of today's fixture.
“Looking forward to it, we have hardly played since Christmas with it being quite stop start. Be another tough match, we have to get back to winning ways after drawing at Penrhyncoch so we are looking for the three points.
“We need to go on a good run now, like we did at the start of the season. Hopefully, pick up quite a few points and stay where we are, at the top of the league. “
Last time out saw us draw against mid-table Penrhyncoch. A early second half goal from Geoff Kellaway was canceled out by Ryan Edwards.
However, a result that could have been seen a shock going into the match. However the conditions on the day, plus the tight set-up of the Roosters may have seen a new way clubs may play against us.
But despite the result, the Gaffer knows that matches will be difficult, and results may not be the same as we had it in 2021.
“Like I said before the game, It was a difficult place to go, but we were disappointed that we didn’t pick up the three points. They had a game plan, and just sat behind the ball for 90 minutes and were difficult to break down. The conditions weren’t the best, but we didn’t get beat we picked up a point so just have to carry on.
“It depends how they come here. A lot of clubs are coming to us and just digging in to defend and hold onto the ball. We just have to be at it, break them down and hopefully they won’t play like that but a lot of teams will do that now till the end of the season. It is up to us to break them down and get the goals.”
Going into the match, the Wingmakers still sit on top of the JD Cymru North by three points and a game in hand on second place Llandudno. With nine matches to go in our season, todays fixture is the first of six matches in the next five weeks. Five weeks that could determine our fate and the league.
With that in mind, how does the gaffer see the last two months of competitive matches.
“We have nine games left, nine cup finals. If we win everyone we will win the league. We have to be at it as everyone wants to try and beat us. It will be tough, but we just have to get through each game. But looking forward to the run in. “
