George Peers and Oli Lanceley’s goals weren’t enough as a Greg Draper brace saw us pick up our first draw of the JD Cymru North campaign.

The Guils were down to 10 following an early red in the second half shown to Andrew Ford, With starting keeper Michael Jones also being forced off mid-way through the first period.

Steve O’Shaughnessy made one changes to our starting XI that won in tricky conditions in Llandudno at the start of the month, with the suspended Joe Palmer dropping out and Aaran Edwards coming in for his maiden first team start. Rhys Williams also returned to the bench.

Nathan Leonard unbeaten Guils made two changes from their last outing against Prestatyn. With Cymru leagues veteran Greg Draper and Callum Bromley starting, whilst Iwan Matthews and Steven Blenkinsop dropped to the bench.

The Match started with the visitors pressuring early. Keeping us penned into our own half. However, they weren’t able to take advantage of the early pressure.

The nerves were showing for both sides, with the importance of the match showing for the two XI’s.

The Wingmakers started turning the screw though after 15 minutes. With A. Edwards pulling off a great pass to Adam Davies, but our star marksmen couldn’t find the final pass to the rushing Ryan Edwards.

Three minutes later, a great long ball from the back found Davies in space. The striker beat the last man Robert James and Jones but was unable to keep the tap in on the right side of the near post.

10 minutes later, a lovely through ball by George Peers found Davies in space but Jones made a great save to stop us taking the lead.

But after a couple of corners, the Wingmakers got their goal. A fantastic cross from Simon Spender, confused everyone in the box, bar Peers who broke the deadlock at the back post.

Following the goal, Jones received treatment but was unable to continue. He was replaced between the sticks by Spencer Parrish, whilst Iwan Matthews came off the bench for Leonard’s men.

Lewis Dutton was called into action twice within a few minutes. Firstly, Draper broke through and was one on one with our man in the sticks, only for Dutton to pull off a fantastic stop. Next was from Jamie Hyne, who pulled off a shot from distance, but again Dutton was on hand to keep the score as it was.

The Bus came out of the traps well in the second half, and that nearly paid dividends. A. Edwards cross field pass found Beau Cornish in space, and the TNS loanee turned in the box and forced a great save from Parrish.

Three minutes later though we made it two. Davies found his partner Lanceley free and the striker slotted home with ease to score our 50th league goal.

A straight red card was then shown to the visitors five minutes after our second. Ford went in with a dangerous tackle on Davies left referee James Walker with no choice.

The chances kept coming for the Wingmakers, but the Guils stood firm, even being down to 10.

Jake Eyre came racing onto the pitch in the 65th minute, and almost made a perfect entrance as he darted through and fired a thunderbolt at goal, only to be denied by a finger tip save by Parrish.

Our number 10 had another chance seconds later following the corner. His shot from the edge of the box was just wide of the post.

The Guils managed to get a goal back with 20 minutes to play. A long throw from Chris Cathrall bounce through the Wingmakers defence, and found Draper free at the back post and the New Zealander slotted home.

The Wingmakers though nearly had the perfect response. Davies broke through down the left and his floating strike bounced off crossbar, before A. Edwards shot from distance was saved well by Parrish.

Moments later, Eyre make a lighting quick break down the right, dazzled round Parrish in the box but his shot was cleared off the line by the determined visitors.

Elliot Orton made a great break down the Left with minutes left, found Cornish free who fired from the edge of the box, but his attempt was saved well by Parrish.

With only minutes left, Draper broke unmarked, and got his second of the match for the visitors ending our 10 match winning streak in the league.

However we are able to bounce back next week against Llangefni as we look to get 13th win of the season.
